About Claudia
Originally from Brazil, Coach Claudia is a third-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with 20 years of practice and international coaching experience. Her journey began in April 2006, at the age of 22, when she started training under Master Renzo Gracie in New York, USA. She brought her passion for sport into martial arts, building a lifelong commitment to learning and personal development.
“The most rewarding moment is seeing a student realise: I can do this. That’s where confidence begins.”
Alongside Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Claudia has practised and coached Muay Thai, Kickboxing, MMA & Boxing since 2007. She also trained in capoeira from 2009 and continues to practise, adding to her broad foundation in movement and martial arts.
Claudia began teaching BJJ in 2010 as a purple belt, discovering how rewarding it was to help others learn and progress. Since then, she has taught at the Renzo Gracie Academy in New York, delivered a seminar in Ireland, and coached in Madrid, Fortaleza and Florianópolis. Her experience includes working with adults and competitive athletes, as well as spending two years and eight months teaching children and teenagers in UAE government schools.

For Claudia, the most rewarding moment in coaching is seeing a student’s eyes light up when a technique comes together and they recognise their own progress. This sense of discovery shapes her approach: helping each student develop their skills, build confidence and find enjoyment in training.
